Jane, a thirty-something art teacher, has been a widow for two years. Struggling to come to terms with her grief, she decides to resign from her job and buy a six-month tickets to the little town of Oakham on beautiful Cape Cod, where she hopes to rediscover who she is and what she wants from life.

Over the long summer months, Jane rediscovers her love of art and her painting ability. Her fragile confidence re-emerges as she reveals her story to her new friends.
